As a voracious reader, I am always on the lookout for the latest page turner. I
get most of my recommendations from some bookworm friends of mine and also like
to keep abreast of anything new on the horizon via my favorite mags such as
Glamour and Marie Claire. Though I sometimes take advantage of my Nook, I have
always preferred the smell and feel of an actual real live book (I know I’m so
old school). For second hand books –Symposia, in Hoboken, does
the trick. Below are a few of the books I have recently read and what I thought
of them. Happy Reading!

It has taken a while to get to Lean In by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, but I’m glad I finally did. This book should be read by all women looking to advance their careers and all men looking to even the playing field.

Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson is an unexpectedly lovely story about a somewhat crotchety Englishman and a Pakistani shopkeeper whose love is cemented by a shared love of what else? Books!

Always a sucker for a good Oprah Book Club read, I was not at all disappointed by Gwyn Hyman Rubio’s Icy Sparks– the sad, funny and uplifting coming of age tale of a girl with Tourette’s Syndrome growing up in rural Kentucky.

Stay tuned for more of my book recommendations!
